Lay People are Saying about Faith Alive!

" The music and youth
programs were excellent. We were all delighted with the music we were
introduced to. Our youth really bonded with the group leaders. I think
the most amazing thing was the witnessing by the Faith Alive team. It
was so moving that all our parish members did the same in all of our
group meetings. Every one of us were extremely elated at the events
of the Weekend. Many of our parish members were moved to tears. We were
delighted with Chip (Strickland) and the rest of the team. This was
the most inspiring event I've ever been a part of in my 40 years in
this parish."

"Of
all the programs, discernments, visions, strategic planning, etc. we
have done in the past to jump start our congregation as a whole, NOTHING
has come close to what happened to us, with us, and through us in the
planning, the Weekend itself and most importantly, the aftermath of
our Faith Alive Weekend. The Weekend was a blur of prayers, love and
hope... and the Holy Spirit. We came together as a family in a way that
has never happened before. We were astounded by what we found out about
each other. No one wanted the Weekend to end. The love and acceptance
we felt for each other was truly indescribable. We really felt like
members of the same body."

"
I felt the love of God and was thankful that my family enjoyed the Weekend
and felt that love. I am thankful for all the time and effort expended
to make this a wonderful Weekend for all of us. I personally felt God
with me and my family and think it may be a turning point in our lives.
Thanks be to God!"
Trinity Episcopal Church
Edisto Island, South Carolina
" The attendance at the Weekend was very good with 250 people of
the approximately 400 parishioners attending. Enthusiasm and responsiveness
ran high throughout the Weekend. The small groups held both nights and
the Saturday coffees were very well received. The Holy Spirit's presence
was spoken of by most present; people felt deeply moved and deeply touched.
Many commented on how thrilled they were to see so many youth there
for the programs, especially teens."
St. Paul's Episcopal Church
Woodbury, Connecticut
"
The Weekend exceeded all our expectations, both in number of participants
and how many lives God touched. The Holy Spirit showed up powerfully
and stirred lives. The sharing and fellowship inspired our church and
gave renewed enthusiasm and energy. Faith Alive was a welcome blessing
for our church family."
St. Mark the Evangelist Episcopal Church

"
I wasn't sure what to expect from our Faith Alive Weekend. I am relatively
new (2 1/2 years) to the Episcopal faith and had never participated
in a religious weekend before. So to say this was more powerful than
I could have imagined is an understatement. Most importantly, I felt
a sense of family and togetherness with all involved that is not possible
in meeting others through our normal church activities."
St. Mary Episcopal Church
Crystal Lake, Illinois
" I believe that the events of the Weekend had a profound effect
on all that attended. The story of each team member touched one if not
all of us. The format of the sessions was widely acclaimed by the attendees.
The music during the general sessions was unbelievable. The presentations
by the children and teens have been used as examples during subsequent
discussions and will be long remembered. Small group meetings appealed
to many of our members who shared their stories. Since we don't have
women's or men's groups, these sessions were much appreciated. The music
team was phenomenal."
St. Mark's Episcopal Church
Bay City, Texas
" Thanksgivings were expressed for a greater sense of community,
for God being in charge and an awareness of his presence, for the outpouring
of the Holy Spirit, and for new or renewed or deeper commitments to
Christ. People described the Weekend as awesome, wonderful and fabulous.
One said, 'I was truly blessed.' Another, who had heard much about our
previous Weekend (25 years ago), said, 'I have now experienced the WOW
for myself.' Another commented that miracles happened here this Weekend,
and several people acknowledged that they happened to them. Another
added, 'God turned mourning into dancing.' "

We called.
You prayed.
You responded.
We were hungry.
You prayed.
We were anxious.
And we prayed as well.
The day came.
You came.
We came.
We came with our thirst.
You brought living water.
We came with our hunger.
You brought nourishment.
We came with our hurts.
You brought healing.
We came with our sorrows.
You brought joy.
We came troubled and tired.
You brought peace and rest.
Two days changed our lives.
We were refreshed, renewed.
We were laughing and singing;
and praising God.
We were new again.
We had hope again.
We were in love again.
We were ready to run the race again.
For some of us, you introduced us
to a new friend.
And for some of us, you reminded us of an
old relationship we had let go.
You sang.
We sang.
We saw Jesus.
We let Him shine once again.
He filled our hearts with love and mercy.
You brought us Jesus.
Our lives were touched and changed.
Thank you!
